The MacoTango Double-Seal Balanced Sleeve Control Valve uses pressure-balanced trim to reduce the fluid force acting on the moving plug.
The valve uses sleeve guidance and a pressure-balanced plug to reduce the unbalanced load on the actuator. Its double-seal construction has two metal sealing surfaces; the arrangement should be selected with the required shutoff leakage in mind.
For this assembly, the balancing and sealing arrangement is central to selection. The term two-stage sealing should not be interpreted as proof that the fluid passes through two pressure-reduction stages.
This design is considered for higher differential-pressure control duties where an unbalanced plug would require greater actuator force. It can be configured for compatible liquids, gases or steam within the selected seal and material limits.
| Nominal size | DN25–300 |
|---|---|
| Nominal pressure options | PN16–160; ASME Class 150–1500 |
| Temperature envelope | −196 to +550 °C across separately selected constructions |
| Trim | Sleeve-guided, pressure-balanced plug with two metal sealing surfaces |
| Body construction | Straight-through S-pattern cast body |
| Connections | Flanged or welded; threaded configurations limited to small sizes |
| Actuation | Pneumatic or electric; sized for the operating differential pressure |
| Rating basis | Series options are not simultaneous operating limits. Select the size, material, seat and pressure-temperature combination for the stated duty. |
For a configuration-specific quotation, send the following information:
We will confirm the final configuration and datasheet against the stated duty before order acceptance.
No. The actuator must still provide sufficient force for seating, friction and the remaining fluid load at the worst operating condition.
No. For this balanced sleeve design, it means two sealing surfaces. A staged pressure-reduction duty requires a separately specified trim arrangement.
