Product Overview

Butterfly valves regulate or isolate fluid flow in pipelines, making them ideal for situations requiring quick shutoff, low pressure drop, and easy operation. The butterfly valve operates with a rotating disc that allows for on/off or modulating service. Constructed from high-quality materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, these valves are known for their durability, corrosion resistance, and suitability for various industrial applications.

Product Features

Quick Operation: Butterfly valves can be opened or closed quickly, often using a lever or actuator, allowing efficient flow control. This is particularly beneficial in industries like HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and chemical processing, where rapid flow adjustments are essential.

Low-Pressure Drop: The streamlined disc design ensures minimal resistance to flow, reducing pressure drop across the valve.

Compact and Lightweight: Butterfly valves are smaller and lighter compared to other types of valves, making them easy to install and maintain.

Versatile Connection Options: Available in wafer, lug, flanged, double flanged, and grooved connections to accommodate a wide range of piping configurations.

Resilient or Metal Seat Options: Offers both soft seats (e.g., EPDM, PTFE) for low-pressure applications and metal seats for higher temperatures and pressures.

Manual or Actuated Operation: Can be operated manually using a lever or automated with electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators.

Specification Applications

Industries

  • Water Treatment Plants: Used in water distribution and control systems for potable and wastewater treatment.
  • Oil & Gas Industry: Suitable for regulating the flow of crude oil, natural gas, and refined products.
  • Chemical Industry: Ideal for controlling the flow of chemicals, acids, and other aggressive fluids.
  • HVAC Systems: Commonly used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for regulating air or water flow.
  • Food & Beverage Industry: Suitable for sanitary and non-sanitary applications that require frequent operation and cleaning, thanks to corrosion-resistant materials and ease of cleaning.

Specific Applications

  • Cooling Water Systems: Controls the flow of water for cooling applications in industrial facilities.
  • Fire Protection Systems: Used in fire sprinkler systems as control valves to regulate water supply.
  • Process Pipelines: Ideal for modulating or isolating flow in pipelines carrying oil, gas, or chemicals.
  • Air Flow Regulation: Used in HVAC systems to regulate air flow, ensuring efficient operation of heating and cooling units.

Installation Instructions

  • Verify the valve size, pressure rating, and material compatibility with the pipeline and medium before installation.
  • Ensure proper alignment of the butterfly valve in the pipeline to avoid seat or disc damage.
  • Use appropriate flange gaskets and follow standard torque tightening procedures for flanged connections.
  • For wafer or lug connections, ensure correct bolt alignment to avoid stress on the valve body.
  • Test the valve for proper operation to ensure the disc moves freely without obstruction. If the disc does not move freely, check for proper alignment and inspect for debris that may be causing the obstruction. If issues persist, further troubleshoot by adjusting alignment or cleaning the valve thoroughly to remove any contaminants.
