The MacoTango Pneumatic Metal-Seated Flanged Ball Valve uses a metal seating arrangement for automated ball-valve isolation.
Metal seats are considered where a soft-seat material would limit temperature or wear resistance. Seat material, hardfacing and contact finish influence both service life and leakage performance.
The metal-seat configuration is selected around the required temperature and wear conditions. The pneumatic actuator must provide adequate breakaway and seating torque at the specified differential pressure.
Potential duties include compatible hot fluids or services containing particles. Solids size, hardness and concentration must be reviewed; a metal seat alone does not prove suitability for every slurry or establish a fire-test certification.
