The MacoTango Porous-Cage Control Valve uses cage passages to manage flow through the throttling area.
Dividing the flow into smaller passages changes jet formation and the way pressure energy is dissipated. A multi-hole cage and a multi-stage pressure-reduction cage are different arrangements; the selected trim must match the required pressure profile.
The cage configuration should be selected by its cage capacity and operating conditions. For gas and steam, include outlet pipe dimensions and the required noise assessment; for liquids, include vapour pressure and solids information.
This type is considered for gas, steam and liquid control where noise or a high pressure drop affects selection. A noise estimate requires the actual flow, pressures, temperature, pipe dimensions and measurement location.
| Nominal size | DN25–300 |
|---|---|
| Nominal pressure options | PN16–160; ASME Class 150–1500 |
| Temperature envelope | −196 to +550 °C across separately selected constructions |
| Trim | Pressure-balanced plug with a perforated cage |
| Body construction | Straight-through S-pattern cast body |
| Connections | Flanged or welded; threaded configurations limited to small sizes |
| Actuation | Pneumatic or electric; sized for the operating differential pressure |
| Rating basis | Series options are not simultaneous operating limits. Select the size, material, seat and pressure-temperature combination for the stated duty. |
For a configuration-specific quotation, send the following information:
We will confirm the final configuration and datasheet against the stated duty before order acceptance.
No. Noise depends on the duty, trim and piping. Request a prediction for the specified operating cases rather than a general decibel claim.
Provide fluid composition, flow, inlet and outlet pressures, temperature, pipe dimensions and the required noise limit and assessment location.
